Our range of native Puglia red wines also includes Bombino Nero, although a grape variety famous for the production of our Crifo Castel del Monte DOC and DOCGG rosés, occasionally contributes to characterful red blends, showcasing the versatility of our regional genetic heritage.

Also the intense Primitivo, which carries in its name the characteristic of early ripening, is valued by Crifo in all its generosity for its richness and early ripening. The Primitivo grape variety allows for warm, soft wines characterized by notes of cherry, plum, cocoa, coffee. The labels Le Carrare Primitivo Puglia IGP, Nerodivo Nero di Troia and Primitivo Puglia IGP represent an excellent choice among the red wines for their immediacy and enveloping nature. Not least among the grape varieties is the rediscovered Susumaniello, a black grape variety from Salento, which in purity gives aromatic red wines with intense ruby color and violet reflections, notes of red fruits, plum, and licorice, characterized by balance, good acidity, and soft tannins.
