SUSTAINABILITY AND AGRICULTURAL INNOVATION, GREEN CERTIFICATION AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Our Commitment

Sustainability is now an essential challenge and a concrete commitment for the Cantina di Ruvo di Puglia. In the wine sector, product quality is inextricably linked to environmental health and the responsible management of natural resources. Wines with the Crifo brand are the result of the significant journey undertaken by the Cantina di Ruvo di Puglia, oriented towards environmental, social, and economic sustainability. Crifo Wines stand as a virtuous model in the Italian wine scene, creating excellence among Puglian red wines, white wines, and rosés with a strong territorial connection.

For Cantina Ruvo di Puglia, the concept of sustainability, meaning the integration of practices and strategies capable of achieving long-term economic goals without compromising resources and the well-being of future generations, is divided into three major areas:

  • Environmental sustainability, which involves the management of natural resources, reducing climate impact, and improving production techniques.
  • Social sustainability, which refers to respecting workers, enhancing the territory, and connecting with the local community.
  • Economic sustainability, which ensures the cooperative’s business profitability without compromising the quality and ethics of operations.

In a context of growing ecological awareness and new European regulations, the wine sector must adapt to increasingly responsible production models, capable of combining innovation and tradition.

Innovative Techniques

Over the years, Cantina di Ruvo di Puglia has consolidated a concrete commitment to sustainability, adopting innovative strategies to make the production process more efficient and environmentally friendly.

Precision Agriculture and Technological Innovation

The cooperative has invested in advanced technologies to optimize crop management and improve agricultural practices. Among the most significant projects is Pu.V.I.oT. (Puglia Vitivinicola dell’Internet of Things), a program for monitoring and data collection in the field for precision agriculture 3.0. This system allows agricultural operators to receive real-time information on weather conditions and crop status, enabling targeted interventions and reducing waste. Additionally, the E-CROPS project, developed in collaboration with universities and research institutions, has integrated digital agriculture with industry 4.0, creating innovative tools for crop management and environmental risk control.
