Le Contrade
The Crifo Le Contrade line was conceived with a very specific philosophy: to emphasize the bond between the Cantina di Ruvo di Puglia and the Apulian terroir and to promote a love for tradition and the cultural and food-and-wine heritage of Puglia.
The meaning of Contrada. The distinctive features of the Alta Murgia territory
The name itself, Contrade, evokes the concept of specific vineyard parcels historically identified by natural elements such as olive and almond trees, or by features introduced by human activity, such as the characteristic dry-stone walls. Within the Crifo range, this line represents an authentic expression of the different vineyard sites across the vast territory of the Apulian Murgia. The wines in this line are described as structured and powerful, very fruit-forward, with aromas recalling plums, cherries in spirit, and blueberry jam, harmoniously blended with spicy notes of the Mediterranean scrub.

Crifo excellence in the line Le Contrade
The heart of this line lies in its dedication to native grape varieties, each of which is treated with meticulously adapted winemaking processes to enhance its peculiarities. This precision in production is not only a demonstration of oenological expertise but also a commitment to preserving and promoting the rich ampelographic heritage of Puglia. The use of techniques such as drying for complex red wines (e.g. Squarcione Appassimento Rosso Puglia IGP) and aging on fine lees for aromatic whites (e.g. Bellagriffi Moscatello Selvatico Puglia IGP) highlights a production methodology as sophisticated as it is versatile, aimed at maximizing the complexity, structure, and aromatic purity of the wines.
