The 53rd National Exhibition of Selected Wines “Douja d’Or” in Asti, held from September 6 to 15, 2019, saw our “Augustale Nero di Troia Riserva Docg 2014” crowned with the prestigious Oscar, awarded to a select few high-profile Italian labels that scored at least 92 points. Out of 786 candidates, only 29 received the top title, and we are proud that our finest wine is part of this prestigious selection.
Crifo is also among the 164 companies that received at least one award, collecting 3 awards out of only 7 given in Puglia, our home region. Other gems from our winery were also awarded at the prestigious Asti event, including “Augustale Castel del Monte Bombino Nero DOCG 2018” (Douja d’Or Award with 89.2/100) and “Terre del Crifo Nero di Troia Puglia Igp 2017” (Douja d’Or Award with 87.8/100).
The strict selection of the Competition, now in its 47th edition, was conducted by Onav (National Organization of Wine Tasters), Ais Asti (Italian Sommelier Association), Aspi (Italian Professional Sommellerie Association), and industry journalists: Paolo Massobrio, curator of the guide Il Golosario, and Alessio Turazza, collaborator of Gambero Rosso.
Highlighting the international scope of the event, from which Crifo emerged as a leading brand, was the presence of Asian taster and Onav China member, Wang Lu.
