Le Contrade line by Crifo has a new label, a tribute to the Apulian Murgia.

We are connected to our land by a love for tradition and are committed to enhancing the cultural heritage we have inherited. Driven by this spirit, we present the new labels of four contemporary wines, born among the dry stone walls of our countryside.
The Le Contrade line was conceived with the specific purpose of telling particular “oenological anecdotes” of our terroir. Perhaps lesser-known grape varieties, referring to the Alta Murgia, which we vinify by alternating traditional and modern techniques to create wines that tell something new and surprising about our “slice of Puglia.”

The restyling of the Le Contrade line is inspired by an evocative scenario, the paths marked by rows of dry stone walls that “design” our countryside, rural areas with curious names that are traversed daily by workers, farm residents, tourists, and outdoor enthusiasts.
The dry stone walls are a living expression of the harmonious bond that has existed for centuries between man and nature, an integral part of the traditions of our rural communities and a UNESCO heritage since 2018.
The dry stone walls, made of stones stacked on top of each other (without the use of any binder), were built to delineate lands, properties, roads, paths, or terraces. The dry stone architecture, still practiced and passed down today, is emblematic of the Murgia landscape; from the walls derive other typical and peculiar structures such as the caseddi or the pagghiari, which served as shelters, storage, or depots. In turn, from these, the more famous trulli emerged.
In Le Contrade there’s all the flavor of the rural tradition, there’s all the flavor of our beloved Puglia whose lands we have cultivated and respected with careful and diligent work since 1960.
